Welcome to the Marshall Street School and Job Development Center LibGuide
Our library has a variety of material available for our students to enjoy, including adapted books, board and sensory books, easy readers, picture books, fiction and nonfiction, as well as eBooks. Items in our Library support and enhance our Unique Curriculum. Books in our collection have been specially chosen for content, concise text, relevant illustrations, and suitability for age, grade level, and student population. We continue to modify and adapt our print books to make them more accessible and interactive for our students. Making books multisensory engages students and makes learning more meaningful to our children. Students visit the Library Media Center on a regular basis to use materials and are encouraged to borrow books.
Marshall Street also houses a Special Education Professional Collection of books and other material for teachers, parents, and caregivers of students with autism spectrum disorder.
Interactive eBooks are a valuable resource for students in Special Education Classes. Their digital content helps improve literacy by providing scaffolding and increasing student engagement. Their multisensory approach is especially important in helping students meet the accommodations on their IEPs.
