A variety of natural hazards result from natural processes. Humans cannot eliminate natural hazards but can take steps to reduce their impact

You are an engineer who has been hired by your community to develop a plan to keep everyone in their houses safe during an extreme weather event. You must consider all of the impacts that an extreme weather event may have. Research information about hurricanes and determine what types of damage it causes. Be sure to use online and book resources.
Here are some questions to consider when learning about hurricanes.
Design a solution that you think will best protect your house from a hurricane.

While fiction books aren't often considered for research, these stories may give you a glimpse into what it was like before, during, and after the hurricane. You may be able to understand the impact of a hurricane and the devastation that it causes.
